tomato nectarine salad
This is an easy salad to make when you have good tomatoes. To make enough for two:
1 tomato, cored and cut into thin wedges
1 nectarine, cut into thin wedges
a few basil leaves, cut into chiffonade
a sprig of tarragon, stemmed and coarsely chopped
2t sherry vinegar
a pinch of sugar
a pinch of salt
a few grinds of pepper
Mix everything up, then let it sit for a while till it makes itself a juicy dressing.

It's beautiful. I'l make it. You saved my salad tonight, and my ice cream. I sure got rattled.
Last thursday, I tried a relative of the mint plant named shiso. I had never heard of it, but it was tasty and reminded me of something you had made a long time ago.
